Are you currently working in care, supported housing or community support and looking for a role where you can really make a difference to people's lives? We are looking for compassionate, organised and proactive individuals to join a highly respected charitable organisation supporting elderly residents aged 65+ within beautiful almshouse communities in Richmond.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will be the main point of contact for residents, helping to create a safe, welcoming and supportive environment while encouraging independence and wellbeing.
We welcome applications from candidates with experience in:
- Care homes
- Domiciliary care
- Care agencies
- Supported housing
- Retirement living
- Community support
- Resident or customer-facing care environments
Previous Scheme Manager experience is not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move from a care or support background into a more community-focused role.
Applicants must:
- Be a car owner/driver
- Live within a reasonable commuting distance of the London Borough of Richmond (approximately 40 minutes or less)
The Role
- Building positive relationships with residents aged 65+
- Supporting resident wellbeing and independent living
- Carrying out regular welfare and wellbeing checks
- Responding to day-to-day resident queries and concerns
- Liaising with families, healthcare professionals and external agencies
- Assisting residents to access support services where required
- Managing administration and maintaining accurate records
- Helping to maintain a safe, welcoming and community-focused environment
About You
- A caring, empathetic and patient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Organised with good administrative ability
- Calm, practical and solution-focused
- Comfortable handling sensitive situations
- Confident using email and basic IT systems
- Experience supporting elderly or vulnerable people would be highly desirable
