Òran Mór is a truly unique and iconic Scottish venue within Glasgow’s West End. Music and theatre is an important part of Òran Mór’s history and legacy with legendary gigs from the likes of The Libertines, China Crisis, Deacon Blue, Kate Nash, The Shires, Texas, London Grammar, Sophie Ellis-Bexter, Emeli Sande, Gerry Cinnamon, Wolf Alice and more.

We also work closely with Celtic Connections, Glasgow International Comedy Festival, West Fest and The Glasgow Jazz Festival, meaning we need someone who has a full understanding of the live entertainment industry.

We are looking for a Live Music and Arts Programmer who combines strong commercial instincts with a well – developed network across the live entertainment and theatre industry. Someone who understands how deals get done, knows the promoter and agency landscape and who can plan and deliver a diverse programme of visiting and in-house productions.

This is a fantastic – and rarely available – role within Òran Mór. The role will be what you make it, you will be given the opportunity to grow your networks, manage a diverse programme of entertainment and make your mark on it. There is a real opportunity for development within this role / department, as the group continues to grow, with plans to open a major new music venue in Edinburgh. This candidate could play a pivotal role in the creation of that venue.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Complete diary and programme management across the venue.
  • Diary management admin, dealing directly with enquiries.
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with promoters, artists and agents.
  • Assisting with post show settlements and working closely with our financial department.
  • Working closely with the ticketing department on sales.
  • Curating, programming, contracting and delivering events.
  • To seek out emerging trends in music and create opportunities for their development and performance at Òran Mór.
  • Experience of effectively managing production budgets, monitoring expenditure and developing work within strict financial parameters.
  • Produce our in-house theatre productions, working closely with creative teams.
  • Working closely with Celtic Connections / Glasgow International Comedy Festival / The Glasgow Jazz Festival / West Fest.
  • Support our other event venues with programming and curation, venues including Ghillie Dhu, Cabaret Voltaire and more.
Skills and Experience:
  • • A minimum of 3+ years working in a similar role within the events industry
  • • A professional approach and excellent communication skills
  • • An appetite for new music and an openness to new waysof working
  • • Good time management and the ability to work under pressure
  • • Working knowledge of the venue Health & Safety regulations
  • • Strong financial skills with budgets, costing and forecasting
  • Willingness to work flexibly and out of office hours as required
