Role Overview
Oradeo is recruiting experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors to join a major project team in London. The role will play a key part in commercial management across all stages of the project, supporting contract administration, valuations, cost control, and mentoring junior commercial staff. You will provide critical commercial guidance to the project team, ensuring accurate reporting, contract compliance, and effective management of subcontractors and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, interim, and final valuations, applications for payment, and reconciliations of contract, subcontractor, specialist, and supplier costs.
- Provide accurate reporting to enable regular review of cash flow and contract positions.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Manager to place sub-contracts where required.
- Examine contract documents in detail and highlight any anomalies.
- Prepare, submit, and agree interim and final valuation dates with client representatives.
- Complete all necessary take-offs in advance of requirements from Estimating, Procurement, and Planning departments.
- Prepare contract final accounts for completed sections of work, including adjustments, and submit for agreement with client representatives.
- Carefully record all contractual delays and associated details.
- Manage, mentor, and coach Contract Surveyors, Assistant Surveyors, and Junior Surveyors reporting to you.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience, preferably with a main contractor.
- Experience on construction or civil engineering projects (residential and commercial).
- Chartered or working towards chartership with the Society of Chartered Surveyors (SCS).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong IT skills and proficiency with commercial/project software.
