Join a technological juggernaut, on the cutting edge of Cloud Infrastructure. Oracle is looking for an intern who wants to take the first step on to a path to an exciting future at the forefront of cloud computing and storage. You will support the Data Centre Operations team in the build, development, and operation of some of the world's most advanced data centre sites. This is a great learning opportunity, where you will get behind the scenes experience in the nuts and bolts of what keeps the internet alive.
Your tasks will include but not be limited to the following:
- Assisting with the deployment of state-of-the-art server racks.
- Ensuring the correct operation of critical infrastructure.
- Driving the highest of standards and ensuring they are uniform across all locations.
- Communicating with capacity planning to ensure the critical infrastructure maintains its robust resilience.
- Liaising with some of the biggest data centre providers in EMEA to ensure all requirements for successful operations are met.
- Working alongside highly skilled computer hardware engineers to carry out break fix on equipment integral to the functionality of global connectivity.
- Maintaining world-class standards within the Data Centre.
Required Skills/Experience
What we are looking for:
- Undergraduate students completing a university placement programme in the UK.
- Studying for a University degree in Computer Science, IT, or mechanical and electrical operations.
- Articulate – strong presentation skills.
- Tech savvy and have a passion for technology, cooling innovations, problem solving.
- Interest in Operational Management, cloud technology, servers and data centres.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage tasks and follow-up actions.
- High energy, confident, outgoing, and proactive.
- Creative.
