We’re partnered with an innovative company who are scaling their modern EPR platform into a fully cloud‑based SaaS solution. They’re looking for an Infrastructure DBA to own performance, reliability and zero‑downtime delivery across a large, distributed, sharded database estate.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitoring and optimising distributed/sharded databases, shard allocations, replication health and overall performance
- Tuning and maintaining MySQL (replication, VReplication, patching, performance)
- Managing monitoring & alerting with Prometheus, Grafana and associated tooling
- Overseeing backups, restores and DR (validations, dry‑runs, ongoing improvements)
- Reviewing DBA updates, maintaining performance baselines and driving infra optimisation
- Supporting data migrations, tenant/table loading and clinical dataset onboarding into SaaS
What You’ll Need
- Proven experience with large sharded/distributed databases
- Strong MySQL performance tuning expertise
- Comfortable in Linux environments
Nice‑to‑Haves
- Experience with Vitess
- Python for tooling, automation, or performance analysis
