My client, a leading defence and intelligence technology provider, is seeking a talented and experienced Automation Tester to join their team in Cheltenham. This role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of innovative and mission-critical solutions within the national security and defence sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and security of software products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and frameworks for mission-critical software solutions.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to understand requirements, identify test scenarios, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Execute automated test cases, analyze results, and identify issues to ensure software meets quality and security standards.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other stakeholders, to drive continuous improvement in test automation and quality processes.
- Participate in design and code reviews to maintain high security and quality standards.
- Provide detailed documentation and reports on automation results, highlighting potential issues and providing suggestions for improvements.
- Stay updated with the latest automation testing tools, trends, and best practices to ensure efficient and effective testing processes.
Requirements:
- Must hold an active enhanced Developed Vetting (eDV) clearance due to the sensitive nature of work.
- Proven experience in automation testing, preferably within the defence, national security, or intelligence sectors.
- Strong proficiency in using automation testing tools, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Ability to write complex SQL queries for data verification and validation.
- Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Java, or similar.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-security environment.
