About the Role
I am working with a fast-growing SaaS startup in the retail space, working with major clients and scaling rapidly. We’re looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to lead and organize the UK-based development team (currently 9–10 engineers, with plans to grow). This is a pivotal role for scaling their engineering function and ensuring delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Growth: Organize, mentor, and scale a high-performing development team.
- Agile Delivery: Manage sprint cycles, scrums, and ensure best practices in Agile methodology.
- Documentation & Compliance: Oversee technical documentation, cloud security policies, and compliance standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Chief Architect to align technical strategy and delivery.
- Infrastructure & Scaling: Ensure robust infrastructure as we onboard large enterprise clients.
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with global teams and senior leadership to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Software Development Manager or similar leadership role in an Agile tech company.
- Strong organizational skills with experience managing sprints, scrums, and team appraisals.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Snowflake, and cloud environments (AWS/GCP).
- Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to work in a hybrid setup (A Few times a week initially).
- Retail SaaS experience is a plus.
