Data Architect Start 02/11/2026 End 31/12/2026 Remote with 3/4 Days a month onsite in Newcastle  The role of the Data Architect in the New Style Modernisation project is pivotal to its success. As a Data Architect, the worker is responsible for comprehensively understanding the data requirements and objectives for NS modernisation, both JSA and ESA. They act as the bridge between data stakeholders, theme teams, Dataworks and other data stakeholders to be identified. The data architect plays a crucial role in identifying and documenting the data structures, data processes and systems needed for New Style modernisation ensuring data flows to the right places and National Statistics, along with other requirements are met. Understand the data and where it goes and for what reason. E.g., Auditing, Dataworks Person requirements: Essential skills and experience: Data Architecture design and modelling techniques, patterns, tools and standards. Presenting data architecture design to technical governance forums. Data Architecture Design: Data Modelling, Master Data Management (MDM), Metadata Management, Data Governance. Event-based architecture design, patterns (including pub-sub and data streaming), modelling techniques, tools and standards. Public cloud technologies, cloud hosting, container, and networking design patterns, tools and best practice (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform). Agile delivery methodologies and best practice. DevOps: Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) delivery methodologies, tools and best practice. Shaping and supporting technology initiatives, projects, programmes and portfolios. Desirable Skills: Communicating Data Data governance Data modelling Data standards Metadata management Turning business problems into data design
