Software Development Manager in London

About the RoleI am working with a fast-growing SaaS startup in the retail space, working with major clients and scaling rapidly. We\’re looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to lead and organize the UK-based development team (currently 9–10 engineers, with plans to grow). This is a pivotal role for scaling their engineering function and ensuring delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Growth: Organize, mentor, and scale a high-performing development team.

Agile Delivery: Manage sprint cycles, scrums, and ensure best practices in Agile methodology.

Documentation & Compliance: Oversee technical documentation, cloud security policies, and compliance standards.

Collaboration: Work closely with the Chief Architect to align technical strategy and delivery.

Infrastructure & Scaling: Ensure robust infrastructure as we onboard large enterprise clients.

Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with global teams and senior leadership to ensure alignment and timely delivery.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Software Development Manager or similar leadership role in an Agile tech company.

Strong organizational skills with experience managing sprints, scrums, and team appraisals.

Familiarity with Kubernetes , Snowflake , and cloud environments (AWS/GCP).

Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills.

Ability to work in a hybrid setup (A Few times a week initially).

Retail SaaS experience is a plus.
