Database Migration Specialist (12-Month Fixed Term Contract) Fully remote UK. Salary - £70k to £80k + Bonus, private health, pension, 25 days holiday + bank holidays.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Database Migration Specialist to support the delivery of large-scale data migration projects within a fast-paced and growing health tech environment. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where you’ll take ownership of migration workstreams, working closely with customers, engineers, and delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes. If you have health tech experience and strong SQL skills, this is a great opportunity to work on impactful projects that directly support healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver data migration strategies across multiple projects
  • Own and deliver end-to-end migration activities
  • Develop, optimise, and maintain SQL procedures and scripts
  • Support data mapping, transformation, and integration between systems
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure smooth migration delivery
  • Provide expertise on SQL queries, updates, and best practice
  • Test and assess database and schema changes
  • Work with engineering teams to resolve complex data challenges
  • Support BI/reporting requests and data queries
  • Maintain documentation including ERDs and core database structures
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
  • Support live environments with database-related issues and incidents

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Proven experience delivering complex data migration projects
  • Experience within health tech / healthcare systems (essential)
  • Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and data management
  • Experience working in large, complex data environments
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with data mapping and migration tools/techniques

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Experience with MySQL
  • Background in MS SQL or other RDBMS environments (welcome)
  • Scripting/automation experience (Python, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Exposure to BI or reporting tools
