An established organisation in Manchester is seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Technical Consultant to take ownership of their BC platform during a phase of ongoing system migrations and optimisation. This role sits within a small, hands-on IT applications function and is ideal for someone who enjoys being the go-to technical owner for Business Central in a live end-user environment. You will play a key role in migrating multiple entities from Navision to Business Central, improving the platform, and supporting the wider business as BC evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical owner of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Lead and support migrations from Navision to Business Central across multiple entities
- Provide hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, and system optimisation
- Own upgrades, configurations, extensions, and integrations within the BC landscape
- Work closely with finance and operational teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Support BAU while contributing to longer-term system improvements and governance
- Ensure data integrity, security, and performance across the platform
- Liaise with external partners and vendors where required
Required Experience
- Strong, hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Previous involvement in Navision to Business Central migrations
- Solid technical background including AL development and SQL
- Good understanding of finance processes (GL, AR, AP, etc.)
- Comfortable working in an end-user environment rather than consulting-only roles
- Able to work independently and take ownership of a critical business system
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting BC across multiple countries or legal entities
- Exposure to system integrations and third-party add-ons
