We have partnered with a well-established, growing wholesale and distribution business based in Derbyshire to support the hire of a Business Systems Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on systems professional to take ownership of the organisation’s core applications, while playing a key role in driving continuous improvement across IT and business processes.

This position sits at the heart of the business, bridging IT support, ERP systems, reporting, and development. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring systems are robust, scalable, and aligned with operational needs.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and optimisation of the company’s ERP and wider technology landscape, alongside providing technical support across the business. Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Administering and supporting the organisation’s ERP system, including user management, configuration, and system optimisation
  • Providing 1st-3rd line support across business systems, hardware, software, and networks
  • Developing and maintaining reporting solutions to support operational and commercial decision-making
  • Supporting integrations between internal systems and third-party platforms (e.g. APIs, data feeds, file transfers)
  • Contributing to automation and development initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes
  • Troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
  • Supporting system upgrades, testing (UAT), and rollout of new features

We're keen to speak with individuals who combine strong technical capability with a practical, solutions-focused mindset. Key experience includes:

  • Experience supporting an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar highly desirable)
  • Proven background in IT support across infrastructure, users, and business systems
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI, Excel, or similar
  • Exposure to integrations and data handling (e.g. APIs, XML/JSON, ETL processes)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to operate both reactively and proactively

This role offers the chance to join a business where systems play a critical role in day-to-day operations. You'll have the autonomy to improve processes, influence system strategy, and make a tangible impact. There is also scope for the role to evolve, with increasing ownership of systems, integrations, and data as the business continues to grow.
