Fullstack Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join a growing engineering team responsible for delivering scalable, high-performance digital products used by thousands of customers. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working across the full technology stack, building modern user experiences, developing robust backend services, and contributing to the evolution of platform architecture. You'll play a key role in designing and delivering new features while helping drive engineering standards and mentoring other developers within the team.

Tech Stack

• Frontend: JavaScript (ES6+), React (Vue or Angular experience will be considered), HTML5, CSS3, Responsive Web Development
• Backend: PHP, Laravel, REST APIs, Event-Driven Architecture, Data Platforms, MySQL, MongoDB / Couchbase, Search Platforms (Solr, Constructor)
• Cloud DevOps: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Docker, CI/CD Pipelines, Microservices Architecture, RabbitMQ / Pub/Sub

Essential Skills Experience

• Strong commercial experience as a Full Stack Developer with ownership of end-to-end feature delivery
• Proven backend development experience using PHP and Laravel
• Strong frontend development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks
• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+)
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Strong understanding of software architecture and distributed systems
• Experience working within microservices environments
• Strong knowledge of MySQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Couchbase
• Experience with event-driven systems including RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub, or similar technologies
• Exposure to cloud environments, ideally GCP
• Experience with Docker and modern CI/CD practices
• Strong commitment to code quality, testing, and engineering best practices
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex issues across the full application stack

Desirable Skills Experience

• Experience working within eCommerce or marketplace platforms
• Additional GCP experience within large-scale production environments
• Experience with search technologies such as Solr or Constructor
• Experience supporting and modernising legacy applications
• Previous involvement in high-traffic, customer-facing platforms

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications across frontend and backend systems
• Build responsive, scalable, and high-performance user interfaces
• Develop and maintain APIs and backend services using PHP and Laravel
• Deliver features from concept through to deployment and ongoing optimisation
• Contribute to the evolution of platform architecture and engineering standards
• Write and maintain automated tests across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing layers
• Participate in code reviews and promote best engineering practices
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues
• Optimise applications for performance, scalability, and reliability
• Work closely with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering teams
• Mentor and support junior team members where required

Additional Information

• Experience with GCP is highly desirable
• Experience with both monolithic and microservices architectures would be advantageous
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders are essential
