A leading technology consultancy is expanding its engineering capability and is seeking experienced Senior Java Engineers to help deliver complex enterprise platforms and large-scale digital transformation programmes.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of technical delivery, influence engineering standards and mentor other developers while remaining hands-on with modern Java engineering.
Following the initial 12-month FTC, there is a strong expectation that successful candidates will move into a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and developing large-scale Java solutions.
- Building and maintaining Spring Boot Microservices.
- Working with AWS-hosted cloud-native architectures.
- Leading technical workstreams and supporting solution delivery.
- Conducting code reviews and promoting engineering best practice.
- Mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers.
- Collaborating with architects, DevOps engineers and senior stakeholders.
- Supporting delivery through the full software lifecycle.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years commercial Java development experience.
- Java (JDK 11+).
- Spring Boot.
- Microservices architecture.
- AWS.
- REST APIs.
- CI/CD pipelines.
- Agile/Scrum delivery.
- Experience reviewing code and supporting other engineers.

Security Clearance Requirement
Applicants must be eligible for UK SC Clearance.
This means you must typically:
- Be a British Citizen, hold Settled Status, or Indefinite Leave to Remain.
- Have lived continuously in the UK for the last 5 years.
- Have no periods of 30 days or longer spent outside the UK during that time.
