We are supporting a major public sector digital transformation programme and are seeking an experienced Dev Ops Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering secure, scalable and cloud-native solutions.
This role will focus on the design, automation and optimisation of AWS-based infrastructure and delivery platforms, working closely with software engineers, architects, testers and delivery teams to enable reliable, secure and efficient software release processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain and optimise AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles.
- Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines, with a strong focus on Git Lab CI.
- Automate deployment, configuration and operational processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Support containerised workloads and cloud-native deployment patterns.
- Implement monitoring, logging and observability solutions to improve platform visibility and operational performance.
- Drive infrastructure resilience, scalability, security and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Support incident response, troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of platform and application services.
- Promote Dev Ops best practices and continuous improvement across engineering teams.
- Required Experience
- Strong hands-on AWS experience, including services such as ECS, Cloud Watch, SNS, SQS and related platform components.
- Proven Terraform and Infrastructure as Code expertise.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, ideally using Git Lab CI.
- Strong Docker and containerisation experience.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and Cloud Watch.
