Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our Client, Telford & Wrekin Council, for a reliable and organised Post & Admin Support Officer to support increased workload within a busy corporate environment.
This is a varied, hands-on role involving the sorting, collection and distribution of mail, parcels and equipment across council offices, alongside general administrative duties. The role is active and requires being on your feet for much of the working day.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
- Collect and deliver post across council departments.
- Process mail using franking systems and Royal Mail business accounts.
- Manage departmental pigeonholes and virtual mail processes.
- Deliver laptops, equipment and general parcels.
- Support administrative tasks, including cash and cheque deposits when required.
Requirements
- GCSE English and Maths Grade C/Level 4 or above or equivalent.
- Experience or knowledge of Microsoft 365.
- Strong organisational, time management and communication skills.
- Ability to learn new processes quickly and meet workload targets.
- Previous post room and/or administration experience is preferred.
Additional Information
- Full training provided.
- Applicants must be aged 18 or over due to the office environment containing industrial printing equipment.
