About the Role

Northampton Children's Trust is seeking an experienced, passionate, and motivated Supervising Social Worker to join our dedicated Post Approval Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting our foster carers and ensuring that children and young people receive high-quality, safe, and stable care placements where they can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold a caseload of approved foster carers, providing regular supervision, guidance, and support
  • Contribute to the duty system and work collaboratively with the Placements Team to identify suitable placements
  • Undertake assessments to understand the needs of children, young people, and families
  • Regularly visit foster carers, children, and families to provide advice, support, and interventions
  • Carry out direct work with children and families to build positive, trusting relationships
  • Monitor and review placements, evaluating the effectiveness of interventions
  • Ensure safeguarding and promote the welfare and well-being of children and young people at all times
  • Complete reports, maintain accurate records, and contribute to reviews and meetings
  • Undertake any additional duties required to support the service

Skills/Experience

Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience within an English Local Authority.
