Location: Coventry office based with 3 days work from home per week

Contract: 3 Months

Working hours: 25 hours per week, 3 days per week to include a Monday

Overview: Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Solihull Borough Council for a Commercial Property Solicitor to work with the Council to undertake a large variety of legal work concentrating mainly on land and property matters.

Job Purpose:

  • To conduct all aspects of legal work relating to land and property, development and landlord tenancy issues.
  • As and when required, attend Council, Cabinet, Committees or meetings and to handle legal and advisory work connected with this.
  • Carry out various commercial and residential property transactions.
  • Advise on statutory residential property matters, including Council charges.
  • Advise on local government law in the areas of property development work.

Essential Skills & Knowledge required: The suitable applicant must be a qualified solicitor who can hit the ground running. You will need to have development knowledge and be able to work with larger scale transactions, mainly all commercial work rather than residential.

If successful, candidates will be required to provide information to support the Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council's commitment to the prevention and detection of fraud. This information will be processed by the Council's Internal Audit Services and may be shared with the National Fraud Initiative (NFI) for data matching.
