Are you passionate about cooking, teamwork, and delivering exceptional food service? Vertas is looking for a dedicated School Chef to join our Catering Team.

About the Role:

Based at Trent Vale Infant/Nursery, NG9 1LP, you will be working Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 13:30, 25 hours per week, Term Time Only. You'll play a key role in preparing and delivering nutritious, high quality meals while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and customer service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and cooking meals in line with menus and nutritional standards
  • Managing food preparation and presentation
  • Maintaining food hygiene and health and safety standards
  • Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies
  • Leading kitchen operations and supporting catering team colleagues
  • Ensuring an excellent dining experience for pupils and staff

Who are we looking for?

  • Previous cooking or catering experience is essential
  • Experience working within a school or commercial kitchen environment is desirable
  • Food Hygiene certification is desirable
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
