About the Role
Peterborough City Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join its Children with Disabilities Team. This is an excellent opportunity to support children and young people with complex needs, helping to safeguard their wellbeing and achieve positive outcomes for them and their families. Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you will manage a varied caseload, undertake statutory assessments and interventions, and support children through key stages of their journey, including transitions into adulthood. This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office. Successful candidates must also be able to travel to Peterborough at short notice to respond to urgent situations and crises.
Location: Peterborough (Hybrid Working)
Rate: £39 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Children with Disabilities eligibility assessments.
- Manage and support children subject to:
- Child in Need (CIN) plans
- Child Protection (CP) plans
- Children in Care (CIC) arrangements
- Undertake work associated with private and public law proceedings.
- Manage Public Law Outline (PLO) processes.
- Support young people through transitions into adulthood.
- Complete Mental Capacity Assessments.
