Hours: 37 hours a week, 3 days in the office, 2 days at home (Milton Keynes City Council Civic Offices 1 Saxon Gate East Milton Keynes MK9 3EJ)

About the role: To undertake Adult Social Care assessments, Review of Care packages and undertaking Mental Capacity assessments. As a Social Worker, you will take responsibility for more complex work and play a vital role in safeguarding and supporting individuals, families, and communities. This includes leading on high-risk cases, applying professional judgement within legal frameworks, and delivering effective, strengths-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Risk Management: Lead and coordinate cases involving high levels of risk and complexity, including the management of Section 42 enquiries.
  • Creative & Reflective Practice: Use reflective approaches and professional curiosity to understand individual circumstances and develop appropriate, person-centred interventions.
  • Effective Case Management: Balance a varied caseload, maintain accurate and up-to-date records, and ensure all reports are completed within agreed timescales. Support collaborative working and peer discussions.
  • Decision-Making & Legal Frameworks: Anticipate, assess, and analyse situations to make sound, justified decisions in line with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Strengths-Based Practice: Empower individuals by promoting independence, supporting informed choice, and building on their strengths to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Holistic Assessment: Evaluate the impact of psychological, social, economic, environmental, and physiological factors on people's lives, considering age, development, and lived experience.
  • Ethical Practice & Inclusion: Promote social justice, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of practice.
  • Supervision & Continuous Development: Participate actively in reflective supervision, preparing case discussions and applying learning and guidance to your practice.
