Are you passionate about food, teamwork, and delivering exceptional service? Vertas is looking for a dedicated Assistant Chef to join our Catering team.
About the Role:
Based at Bedgebury Café, TN17 2SJ, you will be working 30 hours a week (working 4 days out of 7 on a rota basis, with the shift times 8am - 4.30pm). You'll play a key role in preparing and serving meals to a high standard while ensuring food safety and hygiene regulations are followed. Bedgebury Cafe is located in the beautiful Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest. This is an award-winning visitor attraction with something for everyone. Open all year, Bedgebury is the perfect place for healthy outdoor activity.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist with the preparation and cooking of meals
- Serve food and maintain portion control
- Ensure kitchen and equipment are kept clean and hygienic
- Follow health and safety and food hygiene procedures
- Travel between sites as required
Who are we looking for?
- Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and flexible with a positive attitude
