We are seeking an experienced Consultant Social Worker to join Suffolk County Council’s Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team. This is a critical role within Children and Young People’s Services, providing expert oversight and decision-making on safeguarding referrals.
You will be responsible for gathering information, assessing referrals, and making recommendations for next steps in line with Suffolk’s Thresholds Document. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Screen and assess incoming referrals for children’s social care.
- Apply Suffolk’s Thresholds Document to determine next steps.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and partner agencies.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of decisions and actions.
- Contribute to safeguarding strategy discussions and risk assessments.
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Proven experience in a MASH setting (essential).
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and thresholds.
- Excellent communication and multi-agency working skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Three years post qualifying experience.
