We are currently recruiting for an Area Sales Executive on behalf of a well-established and growing UK supplier of specialist equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual with a background in equipment sales, or someone looking to develop a career in capital equipment sales.
The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and high-performing sales team, with full training, mentorship, and development provided. The business is committed to investing in the right individual and offering long-term career progression.
The Role
The Area Sales Executive will be responsible for promoting and selling a range of specialist machinery and equipment across the UK, with a focus on designated product lines and regional coverage. You will play a key role within the wider sales function, taking ownership of key accounts and contributing across the full sales cycle. While the role offers a high level of autonomy, you will report directly to the Sales Director and initially receive close support and mentoring to ensure a strong onboarding and development period.
There will be a balance of maintaining and growing existing customer relationships, alongside identifying and developing new business opportunities across untapped markets.
Training & Development
A structured training programme will be provided, combining both office and field-based learning. This will include:
- Product and application training
- Accompanied customer visits
- Supplier training and visits
- CRM system training
- Internal processes and sales reporting
- Defined projects, targets and objectives
Key Responsibilities
- Market research and new business development
- Telephone prospecting and outreach
- Customer visits and relationship management
- Regular client meetings and on-site engagement
- Achieving required levels of customer visits per week
- Managing time effectively to meet sales and profitability targets
- Organising and supporting customer trials, including delivery, installation, and training
- Sending product introductions and marketing literature
- Targeted email and direct mail campaigns with follow-up activity
- Liaising with suppliers on specific projects
- Using CRM systems to manage activity and pipeline
- Providing weekly and monthly sales reports and updates

Package
- Basic salary: £36,000
- On-target earnings (OTE): approx. £42,000
