About the Role

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) on a part-time basis. This is a fast-paced, frontline role where you will be responsible for screening referrals, applying safeguarding thresholds, and supporting timely, high-quality decision-making to ensure children and families receive the right support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply excellent threshold judgement to ensure appropriate safeguarding decisions
  • Screen and triage referrals within MASH timescales
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, making timely and informed decisions
  • Contribute to and attend strategy discussions, presenting information to support multi-agency decisions
  • Collaborate closely with partner agencies and internal teams
  • Maintain high standards of written and verbal communication
  • Support team delivery and uphold a strong teamworking approach

Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration
  • Significant MASH experience (essential)
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge, including threshold application
  • Ability to work confidently in a high-pressure, fast-paced setting
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills

Working Arrangements

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. First 2 weeks fully office-based to support induction and team integration. Part-time role in line with local authority working expectations.
