Northampton Children's Trust is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Children in Care Court Team. This specialist role focuses on managing a caseload of children whose cases are subject to court proceedings, ensuring their welfare and safeguarding throughout the process. You will play a key role in preparing and presenting evidence to the courts, while continuing to provide high-quality social work support to children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children involved in court proceedings within the Children in Care service.
- Complete assessments, court reports, and statements to support legal processes.
- Undertake statutory visits and all required tasks of a case-holding social worker.
- Work collaboratively with legal teams, guardians, and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children.
- Attend and represent the Trust at court hearings, CIC reviews, and planning meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all safeguarding legislation and guidance.
Skills
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Experience in court work within Children's Services, particularly Children in Care.
- Excellent analytical, report-writing, and communication skills.
- Three years post qualifying experience.

- Hybrid working arrangements vary week to week based on court hearings, CIC reviews, and visits.
