Opus People Solutions on behalf of Suffolk County Council have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join their UASC Team. Do not pass up this chance, apply quickly if your experience and skills match what is in the following description.

We are a countywide team responsible for supporting and accommodating any unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) who have arrived into Suffolk spontaneously or via the National Transfer Scheme (NTS).
Our duties resemble mainstream Child In Care teams with the additional responsibility of ensuring our clients' asylum application is submitted to the Home Office and advocate any subsequent Immigration matter thereafter.
We internally transfer clients at 18 years from social workers to person advisors who support our care leavers up to the age of 25 years pending need and circumstance.
- Undertaking statutory child in care duties, including CIC reviews, PEPs, S47 enquiries
- Undertaking brief enquiries
- Manage Caseload of UASC until 18 years old
- Organise appointments with Immigration solicitor/education and Health.
- Key link between UASC and their foster carer/housing provider
- Organise transfer to Person Advisor near 18th birthday ensuring PA has met the client and is aware of pending tasks/achievements and ensuring necessary referrals submitted regarding housing/benefits etc.
