Job Title: Senior Communications Manager – Leader Communications

Salary: Β£130,000 - Β£150,000 + competitive benefits package + bonus

Responsible to: Internal Communications Director

Work Patter: Hybrid (2-3 days a week in the office)

The role

The Leadership Communications Manager is a senior role reporting to the Director of Internal Communications, responsible for supporting the communication effectiveness, visibility and engagement of leaders across the organisation.

The role leads the planning and delivery of leadership communication activity for the Management Committee (MC), Top 100 leadership community and People Leaders, helping ensure leaders are equipped with clear, engaging and consistent communication aligned to organisational priorities.

Working closely with the Director of Internal Communications, the role develops leadership messaging, visibility activity and engagement plans, and oversees communication for major leadership forums and cascades. Through this, the role helps strengthen alignment, improve leadership communication and support leaders to communicate with clarity, confidence and impact.

Key accountabilities & responsibilities

Executive Leadership Messaging & Visibility

  • In partnership with the Director of Internal Communications, develop and deliver messaging and communication materials for the UK&I CEO and Management Committee (MC)
  • Support the planning and delivery of the UK&I CEO and MC leadership visibility programme
  • Produce tailored communication, briefings and supporting materials for leadership engagement activity, including conferences, leadership meetings and major colleague events
  • Help ensure leadership messaging is clear, aligned and consistent across key organisational communication

Leadership Engagement & Cascade

  • Lead the communication planning and delivery for Top 100 leadership meetings and engagement activity
  • Coordinate communication for the biannual leadership conferences and regular leadership calls, including supporting cascade materials and follow-up communication
  • Develop practical communication toolkits, briefing materials and engagement resources for leaders
  • Support leaders in communicating organisational priorities effectively with their teams

People Leader Communication Capability

  • Support the development of communication guidance, tools and resources to help People Leaders communicate effectively and confidently
  • Contribute to leadership communication initiatives that improve engagement and communication consistency across the organisation
  • Use feedback and insight to identify opportunities to strengthen leadership communication effectiveness

Communication Planning & Delivery

  • Translate leadership communication priorities into clear delivery plans and activity
  • Work closely with the Head of Content and Channels and Internal Communications Managers to deliver integrated communication support across channels and events
  • Ensure leadership communication activity is well-sequenced, audience-focused and aligned to wider organisational communication priorities

Insight & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and evaluate leadership communication activity and engagement
  • Use data, feedback and insight to recommend improvements to communication effectiveness and leadership engagement approaches
  • Support reporting and evaluation activity for leadership communication programmes and events

Specialist skills & experience

  • Significant experience in internal communications, especially leadership communications including CEO office support
  • Experience supporting senior leaders with communication planning and messaging
  • Exceptionally strong writing, storytelling and content development skills with mastery of the C-suite voice
  • Experience delivering leadership engagement activity, events and communication campaigns and initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build credibility with senior leaders
  • Strong organisational and project management capability
  • Good judgement, discretion and attention to detail
  • Experience using insight and feedback to improve communication effectiveness
  • Credibility, resilience and EQ to collaborate and deliver with C-suite level stakeholders
