Opus People Solutions are hiring for a Senior Planning Policy Officer within a Local Authority client based in Northamptonshire. The role is 37 hours per week, offering remote working (2 days on-site per week), and 32.95 Umbrella per day (24.00 PAYE), with a contract length of 3 months+.

  • Undertake the provision of professional planning policy advice and information to the Council in accordance with Town and Country Planning and associated legislation.
  • Assist with the delivery of the Local Plan and evidence base, including the Strategic Land Availability Assessment, Site Selection, and Infrastructure Delivery Plan.
  • Deliver excellent customer service in every interaction for all internal and external customers, including Councillors.
  • Implement the Council's place shaping agenda and its objective to be positive and proactive in terms of allowing the right schemes in the right place at the right time.
  • Provide support on all aspects of the preparation and review of Local Plans, Neighbourhood Plans and Supplementary Planning Documents and other planning policy/guidance.
  • Research and advise the Council of its statutory obligations in relation to land-use planning policy and development planning issues, U.K. Government, strategic and Sub-regional Planning Policy, and the Development Plans.
