About the Role
Northampton Children's Trust are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Children in Care long-term team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who are looked after. You will work with children who are in care, ensuring they receive the highest standard of support and safeguarding. The role involves building strong, trusting relationships with children and their families, advocating for their needs, and helping them achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children who are looked after, providing consistent and high-quality social work support.
- Undertake statutory visits and assessments in line with legislation and guidance.
- Develop and implement care plans that promote stability, well being, and long-term outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including schools, health professionals, and foster carers.
- Prepare and present reports for reviews, court proceedings, and planning meetings.
- Ensure all work complies with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Participate in duty days (office-based) as scheduled.
Skills
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Experience working within a Children in Care or Looked After Children team.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and Care Planning Regulations.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Three years post qualifying Social Work experience.
