Milton Keynes City Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Children in Care Team, with a strong focus on court work and child protection. This is a busy and impactful role, working with children subject to care planning, child protection and court proceedings. You will manage a varied caseload while supporting the progression of cases through Public Law Outline and care proceedings. You'll play a key role in ensuring children's safety, stability and permanence planning, while working closely with partners and the wider safeguarding system.
Hybrid: 3 days office/2 days Working from home
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload across Children in Care (CIC) and Child Protection (CP)
- Undertake court work, including Public Law Outline (PLO) and care proceedings
- Prepare high-quality court statements and reports
- Complete statutory visits for CP and Looked After Children (LAC)
- Participate in the duty rota, supporting incoming safeguarding work
- Effectively assess and manage risk, ensuring timely decision-making and interventions
- Competitive £42ph rate
