We are seeking an experienced professional to support the delivery and development of democratic and civic services within a local government environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in civic engagement, elected member support, election logistics, and service improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of civic and ceremonial services.
- Coordinate civic, community, and charitable events.
- Provide leadership and supervision to support staff and casual employees.
- Monitor budgets, prepare financial reports, and support budget planning.
- Review and improve processes relating to elected member support, including training, declarations of interest, and ICT arrangements.
- Assist with the planning and logistical delivery of elections.
- Support the implementation of operational plans and risk management processes.
- Contribute to the leadership and development of democratic services.
- Deputise for senior managers when required.
- Lead or support projects aimed at improving service delivery and governance.
- Develop innovative approaches to civic and democratic services.
- Undertake other duties consistent with the level and nature of the role.

- Degree-level qualification or significant relevant experience.
- Experience working at a management level.
- Understanding of local government governance, legislation, and democratic processes.
