Position Details * Location: Rugby Borough Council, Community based with 1 day working from home. * Pay Rate: £13.05ph. * Reports to: Housing Officer Independent Living Driver Required. Role Purpose The Independent Living Co-Ordinator supports residents in the Council’s Independent Living Schemes, enabling them to maintain their independence and remain in their homes. This involves promoting health and wellbeing, organising activities, and delivering effective housing management services. What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will have experience in housing management, an understanding of safeguarding principles, and a passion for supporting residents to live independently. Strong communication, organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others while contributing to the community. Key Responsibilities * Work as part of a team to provide housing management and independent living support. * Conduct regular wellbeing visits to residents and adjust support based on individual needs. * Coordinate with families, healthcare professionals, and agencies to address resident welfare. * Promote health and wellbeing by facilitating activities in communal areas. * Collaborate with external organisations to deliver events, encouraging community participation. * Conduct fire and safety checks, ensuring compliance with council policies. * Maintain and support lifeline equipment and assistive technology. * Perform routine property inspections, report issues, and ensure timely resolution. * Ensure residents understand fire evacuation procedures and address health and safety concerns. * Support other team members during absences to ensure continuity of service. Additional Duties * Proactively safeguard vulnerable adults and children, reporting concerns as per council policies. * Maintain effective communication mechanisms with residents, including notice boards. * Support management in continuous service improvement and personal development.
