About the Role

Based at New Mills Nursery School, High Peak, SK22 4AQ, you will be working 12.5 hours a week, Mon - Fri 7am - 8am & 4pm - 5.30pm. You’ll play a key role in providing high-quality caretaking services to oversee maintenance and cleanliness. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out day-to-day maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Ensuring that heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly.
  • Carrying out and recording basic checks and maintaining Health and Safety records.
  • Monitoring site stocks and undertaking cleaning duties.
  • Demonstrating Health and Safety awareness and having a willingness to attend training courses including Health and Safety (all training will be provided).
  • Ad-hoc duties require cover when council meetings & events lead into the evening late; setting up rooms - tables & chairs, tea & coffee refreshments.
  • Cleaning will be required as deep cleans will need to be undertaken during office closed hours.
  • Experience with use of cleaning machines from carpet cleaners, hard floor cleaners, high reached dusting equipment.
  • PAT Testing experience would also be desirable in this role as undertaken throughout the whole building.
  • Basic maintenance knowledge helpful for this role. Painting, repairs, putting up notice boards, etc.
