Are you passionate about ground keeping, teamwork, and delivering exceptional service? Vertas is looking for a dedicated Grounds Team Leader to join our Facilities Team.

About the Role
Based in Derbyshire, including Derby, Burton upon Trent, Chesterfield, Ilkeston and Long Eaton, you will be working 37.5 hours per week Mon - Fri, 52 weeks per year. You’ll play a key role in maintaining public spaces such as parks, office grounds, and local grass verges among other areas, ensuring that all are kept neat and tidy and to the highest standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervision of grounds team
- Liaising with customers while on site
- Organising the day
- General maintenance of site
- Grass cutting, pruning, leaf collection, weeding, etc.
- Use of a range of hand and powered equipment and ride-on mowers
The successful applicant will be:
- Highly motivated
- Experienced in commercial or amenity grounds maintenance
- Good communication and liaison skills
- Knowledge of fine turf surfaces
- Understanding of the technical aspects of grounds maintenance, ie, specifications and health and safety requirements
- Experience of towing a trailer
- Experience in Grounds Maintenance
- PA1 & PA6
