About the Role

Coventry City Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join its Fostering Team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and progressive service, making a meaningful difference to the lives of children, young people, and foster families.

You will manage a complex caseload, undertaking assessments and interventions to support children and young people, whilst working collaboratively with families, carers, and partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a complex caseload under the guidance of a Team Manager.

Undertake planned and intensive interventions with children, young people, parents, carers, and families.

Work with children in need, child protection cases, and looked after children.

Implement, monitor, and review care plans through effective multi-agency working.

Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, carers, and significant others.

Liaise with partner agencies and professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.

Prepare and present reports for conferences, court proceedings, and statutory/internal panels.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with local authority policies and procedures.

Contribute to service improvement initiatives and performance management requirements.

Maintain continuous professional development and uphold high practice standards.

Experience

Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

Experience working within Children's Services, ideally within a Fostering Team.

Strong assessment, report-writing, and case management skills.

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

A sound understanding of relevant legislation, safeguarding practice, and statutory responsibilities.

Ability to effectively manage a complex and demanding caseload.
