Coventry City Council is seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join the Children's Help and Protection Team within the South locality. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated social work professional to work within a supportive case-holding team, helping to safeguard children and improve outcomes for families across Coventry.
Rate: £33.30 per hour (Umbrella)
As a Senior Practitioner within the South Social Worker Case holding Team, you will work with children and families requiring statutory intervention, providing high-quality assessments, safeguarding support and care planning. You will play a key role in supporting complex casework, promoting best practice and ensuring that children receive timely and effective services that meet their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities- Managing a caseload of approximately 20 children and families
- Undertaking assessments and developing effective plans
- Working with children in need of support and protection
- Managing child protection and safeguarding interventions
- Building positive relationships with children, families and partner agencies
- Contributing to high-quality decision-making and risk assessment
- Maintaining accurate and timely case recording
- Supporting the delivery of excellent social work practice within the team
- Social Work qualification
- Current Social Work England registration
- 3+ years post-qualified experience within Children's Services
- Strong experience of safeguarding and child protection work
- Excellent assessment, planning and analytical skills
- The ability to manage complex cases and competing priorities
- A child-focused and outcome-driven approach to practice
- Strong communication and partnership-working skills
