Job Title: Advanced Practitioner – Children’s Services (West Team) Location: Coventry City Council Rate: £33.30 per hour (Umbrella) Working Pattern: Hybrid About the Role Coventry City Council is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the West Social Worker Case holding Team within Children’s Services. This is a key role working across a varied and complex caseload, including Children in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, and pre-proceedings. You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality interventions and driving positive outcomes for children and families. Key Responsibilities Manage a complex caseload including Children in Need, Child Protection, Section 20 accommodated children, and Looked After Children Initiate and progress care proceedings where required Work proactively with families in pre-proceedings to reduce risk and improve outcomes Deliver high-quality assessments, planning, and interventions Provide leadership, guidance, and support within the team Ensure compliance with statutory duties, policies, and procedures Prepare detailed reports for court and statutory meetings Skills & Experience Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration Significant experience within safeguarding, Child Protection, court work, and Looked After Children Previous experience at Senior Social Worker or Advanced Practitioner level Strong leadership, decision-making, and case management skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand environment Excellent communication and report-writing skills Working Arrangements Minimum 3 days per week office-based during non-duty weeks (4 weeks out of 5) Full office attendance required during duty week (1 week in 5) Full-time role in line with standard local authority working hours Why Join Coventry City Council?
