Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Coventry City Council for an experienced Team Manager to join their Kinship Team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a dedicated team supporting children and young people through kinship care arrangements. The successful candidate will provide effective management, supervision and oversight of social work practice, ensuring high-quality assessments and positive outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support a team of social workers within the Kinship Service.
- Provide high-quality supervision, guidance and performance management.
- Oversee the assessment of prospective kinship carers and ensure assessments are completed to a high standard.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, legislation, policies and procedures.
- Drive excellent practice and support continuous improvement across the service.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, partner agencies and stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for children.
- Monitor caseloads, performance and service delivery to ensure quality standards are maintained.
About You
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Social Care.
- Previous management or supervisory experience within fostering, kinship, permanence or looked after children's services.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and safeguarding frameworks.
- Experience of overseeing assessments and supporting social work practice.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions.
