About the Role
Opus People Solutions are currently recruiting for an Elective Home Education Co-ordinator on behalf of Coventry City Council. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced education professional to play a key role in ensuring children who are educated outside of mainstream school settings receive a suitable education and appropriate support.
As the Elective Home Education Co-ordinator, you will lead on the monitoring and oversight of children who are electively home educated across Coventry. You will work closely with families, schools and partner agencies, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met while supporting families in making informed educational choices.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain oversight of Elective Home Education cases across the city.
- Ensure compliance with legislation relating to education, attendance, SEND and Elective Home Education.
- Develop and improve EHE processes, procedures and reporting systems.
- Provide advice, guidance and support to schools, parents, children and partner organisations.
- Identify and respond to requests for school placements and other support services.
- Follow up safeguarding concerns and work collaboratively with relevant agencies.
- Maintain accurate records and produce statistical and management reports.
- Support families in securing suitable educational provision where appropriate.
Skills/Experience
- Significant experience working within an education setting.
- A strong understanding of Elective Home Education, school attendance, exclusions and SEND legislation.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing complex casework.
- Strong organisational and analytical abilities.
- The ability to provide professional advice and specialist guidance to colleagues and stakeholders.
Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working arrangement.
- Approximately 2.5 days undertaking home visits and 2.5 days working from home.
- Based from One Friargate, Coventry.
Additional Information
- £24.00 per hour.
- 37 hours per week.
- Contract expected to last 3-6 months.
- Face-to-face interviews.
