Opus People Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of our Client, Coventry City Council for an experienced Cook to join a residential care setting in Coventry on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and reliable cook who enjoys preparing fresh, home-cooked meals and making a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable adults.

Working within a supportive residential environment, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious lunch and evening meals for residents, respite service users, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook fresh lunch and evening meals daily.
  • Cater for vulnerable adults with learning disabilities within a residential care setting.
  • Provide nutritious, home-cooked meals for approximately 10 residential residents, approximately 5 respite service users, and approximately 6 staff members.
  • Follow all food hygiene, food safety, and kitchen safety procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food preparation.
  • Support dietary requirements and meal planning as required.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
Essential RequirementsQualifications
  • Food Safety Level 1 or Level 2 Certificate.
  • Food Hygiene Level 1 or Level 2 Certificate. Level 1 qualifications will be considered, although Level 2 is preferred.
Experience
  • Previous experience working as a Cook.
  • Experience within a residential care home or similar care environment.
  • Experience catering for groups of approximately 15 to 21 people.
  • Understanding of food hygiene regulations and safe food handling procedures.
