We are supporting a local authority, who are seeking a senior Health and Safety Consultant to undertake a strategic review and maturity assessment of its current HSQE framework. This is a board facing assignment and will suit an experienced leader comfortable operating in a sensitive organisational context.

The Opportunity

This is not an operational firefighting role. You will be responsible for:

  • Conducting a full assessment of existing health, safety, quality and environmental systems
  • Providing independent assurance to senior leadership and Board level stakeholders
  • Reviewing governance, reporting, and organisational capability
  • Undertaking a maturity assessment aligned to future growth and scale
  • Developing a clear, forward looking HSQE strategy and roadmap
  • Engaging and influencing senior operational leaders across a national footprint
  • Supporting and developing the existing HSQE function through a collaborative approach

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a credible senior consultant who:

  • Has operated at Head of or Director level within Health and Safety or HSQE
  • Brings experience within facilities management, outsourcing or multi site environments
  • Has delivered organisational reviews, transformation or maturity assessments
  • Is comfortable operating at Board and Executive level
  • Demonstrates a pragmatic low ego leadership style
  • Can quickly build trust and credibility across operational teams

Working Environment
