Are you passionate about food, teamwork, and delivering exceptional service? Vertas is looking for dedicated Food Service Assistants, Assistant Cooks, School Chefs and Mobile Catering Colleagues to join our teams across North Nottinghamshire.

About the Role:

Based across various locations throughout North Nottinghamshire, we have both temporary and permanent opportunities available, with a range of part time and full time hours to suit different working patterns. We also have opportunities for Mobile Catering Colleagues, supporting multiple sites across the area. Whether you're an experienced School Chef, an Assistant Cook looking for your next opportunity, or a Food Service Assistant looking to start your catering career, we'd love to hear from you. You will play a key role in delivering high quality catering services and providing nutritious meals within our education settings.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and serving food to pupils, staff and visitors
  • Assisting with food preparation and meal production
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
  • Operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively
  • Restocking ingredients and supplies
  • Following food safety and allergen procedures
  • Supporting catering teams across multiple sites for mobile roles where required
  • Adhering to health and safety guidelines at all times

What You'll Bring:

  • A passion for food and customer service
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and food hygiene standards
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous catering experience is desirable but not essential for some roles as training can be provided
  • Relevant catering qualifications are advantageous for Chef positions
  • For mobile roles, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous
