We are seeking an experienced work planner/programmer to join our team at Opus Utility Solutions as a works programmer, you will be the first point of contact for our clients & customers and will be responsible for managing the acceptance of work, the efficient co-ordination of works, handling enquiries, and ensuring that the overall work programme is efficiently constructed and runs smoothly across multiple disciplines.

You will work as part of a busy team, interfacing with multiple external clients and internal departments, using your logistics skills to plan and programme projects and make the best use of our operatives and engineers’ time whilst ensuring we are fully compliant for our clients, working safely and to high customer service standards.

This role requires excellent organisation and communication skills, customer service skills, with a focus on delivering high levels of satisfaction, efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and manages complex project information from clients
  • Provides a positive and innovative input into the team, through provision of solutions to problems and embracing change
  • Maintain productivity and efficiency across all planning and scheduling activities, ensuring all works are allocated correctly, and a robust programme of works is constructed and maintained.
  • Ensure timely dispatch of all works and prioritising customer safety and customer service throughout the process.
  • Identify and support vulnerable customers, arranging specific needs for their appointment.
  • Interfaces with Operational Delivery teams, CLO’s and Streetworks teams to assist the facilitation of a robust programme across multiple contracts and clients
  • Supports and drives high-quality programme/planning meetings on behalf of the business
  • Supports and drives high-quality commercial assessment of a productive and efficient work programme
  • Maximise productivity by hitting daily contact attempts and appointments using various communication methods.
  • Proactively avoid customer complaints, escalating requirements or issues quickly to your line manager.
  • Communicate regularly with operations department to optimize programme slots, considering geography and authorisation.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service is achieved to both external and internal customers, providing excellent customer satisfaction every time

Requirements

  • Proven experience in customer service.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, multi-task and work under tight time pressures
  • Has ability to manage multiple disciplines, the likes of civil excavation teams, cable jointers, overhead lines persons, support drivers, grab wagons, reinstatement teams
  • Has the ability to analyse data and produce internal and external reports for the business, clients and key 3 rd parties
