This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Field Technician with proficient knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations including awareness of requirements for hazardous area electrical equipment and High Voltage systems.
You will need to have recent experience of completing hands-on maintenance and fault finding on electrical plant and equipment.
Salary: £40,000 (OTE £55,000 inclusive of Overtime, standby allowance, annual bonus and company Van) so a full UK driving License is required. This is a field-based position covering South region based on projects (main site - Hemel Hempstead HP2).
Role PurposeTo maintain the integrity of electrical systems ensuring compliance with company and statutory requirements and in response to breakdowns. To oversee and develop a system which implements and records the completion of maintenance and inspection on plant and equipment at allocated locations.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for the delivery of planned and corrective maintenance and inspection tasks at allocated sites in accordance with set targets including the upkeep of the computerised maintenance management systems and plant history files.
- Fulfil the role of Authorised Electrical Person including authorisation for High Voltage working.
- Supervise colleagues and contractors in safe systems of work, including risk assessment and gas testing procedures.
- Act as a focal point for engineering projects having an input into design and installation works to ensure projects are planned and completed with due regard to requirements for safety and operations.
- Provide on the job training and support to new staff updating training records, training plans and competency assessments as required.
- Identify and prepare work scopes and justifications for engineering project works to enhance, modify or replace existing plant and equipment ensuring integrity is maintained and equipment is supportable.
- Deputise for the Electrical Supervisor during periods of absence.
- Complete and supervise maintenance, fault finding and repair on all EC&I systems within operational sites.
- Proficient knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations including awareness of requirements for hazardous area electrical equipment and High Voltage systems.
- A recognised professional qualification in a relevant electrical discipline to NVQ level 3 or equivalent standard.
- Experience including responsibility for supervising staff and contractors completing electrical maintenance and installation work in an industrial High Hazard environment.
- Recent experience of completing hands-on maintenance and fault finding on electrical plant and equipment.
