My client is a premium ice cream manufacturing company, based in the West Midlands.

With Italian roots, this family-run organisation has recently celebrated an impressive 50 years in business and specialise in selling premium dessert products to the commercial, retail and foodservice markets.

Due to continued, strategic expansion, an opportunity has now arisen for a Specification & Compliance Technologist to join their technical team and play a key role in ensuring product compliance, food safety, customer requirements and technical standards are maintained across the business.

Reporting into the Quality Manager, the key responsibilities for your new role as Specification & Compliance Technologist are as follows: Managing customer compliance platforms and technical documentation.

Completing and maintaining product specifications, questionnaires and due diligence information.

Overseeing supplier approval processes, including specifications and risk assessments.

Reviewing and approving packaging artwork to ensure legal and customer compliance.

Maintaining nutritional information and recipe data within internal systems.

Supporting customer, third-party and BRCGS audits.

Conducting internal audits and supporting GMP compliance activities.

Participating in HACCP, TACCP and VACCP activities, including vulnerability assessments.

Monitoring food safety alerts, emerging legislation and industry developments.

Investigating specification, labelling and customer complaint issues.

Supporting technical projects, product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.

Assisting with technical training and awareness activities across the business.

My client is keen to speak to people with proven experience of working in a food manufacturing environment, a degree in food science, food technology, nutrition or a related discipline and a HACCP qualification.

Regardless of previous expertise, you will possess excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skills and be comfortable managing multiple priorities effectively.

In return, my client is offering an excellent salary of £36,500, plus a great benefits package including a company pension and access to the companys pay care scheme after one year (which includes dental, optical and health benefits).
