This is a fantastic opportunity for a Joinery Team Leader with 5 to 10 years experience and strong man management skills, ideally with some basic experience of veneering, to join a growing organisation in Hertfordshire. This role involves managing new processes that need to be well managed to maximise our offers to customers. The forming process is unique for a joinery company, and training will be provided.
The role entails significant planning and organisation to enhance work visibility. It is a 50% hands-on role, with the remainder focused on managing the area.
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits
Location: Letchworth Garden City – Hertfordshire
Hours: 8am – 4.30pm Mon – Fri / Overtime Saturdays (1 or 2 per month at time and half)
Skills & Experience:
- Joinery background with 5 to 10 years experience.
- Basic knowledge of the veneering process is necessary/preferable.
- People management skills are essential due to strong character individuals in the team.
- Rapport building is key to delivering the required work.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a small team of 4 to 6 people covering the veneering and forming processes.
- Veneering:
- Plan the work through the area and keep all schedules up to date.
- Prepare work for veneering by coordinating with other team leaders regarding panel readiness and veneer identification.
- Assist the team across all veneering processes, ensuring quality and delivery meet business standards.
- Maintain a tidy and organised veneering area, ensuring veneer layons are clearly identified and stored correctly.
- Manage stock of veneer.
- Forming:
- Plan moulds from CAD drawings issued to the team.
- Oversee gluing of foam blocks and cutting using a wire cutting machine.
- Assist in mould production and curved work production.
- Ensure the forming area is tidy and organised, with all moulds clearly labelled and recycled whenever possible.
- Manage stock of foam.
