With an excellent reputation in the marketplace, my client is a leading manufacturing company specialising in stamping, plating and tooling and have an enviable client-base across a variety of industries including aerospace, automotive and telecoms. With a bursting order book and strategic plans for further expansion, a great opportunity has now arisen for a Toolmaker to join them at their manufacturing facility in Gloucestershire, to take ownership of repairing production tooling.
The key responsibilities for your new role as a Toolmaker are as follows:
- Repairing production tooling in a timely fashion to make sure that production targets are met on a day-to-day basis.
- Using all standard tool room equipment including surface grinders, spark erodes, lathes and milling machines.
- Performing preventative maintenance work on all current tooling to make sure efficiency is maintained.
- Participating in the company’s continuous improvement scheme to identify areas for change to optimise performance and efficiency.
- Providing technical support to other departments.
- Performing your duties in accordance with the company manual.
In an ideal world, my client would like to find an experienced Toolmaker with knowledge of CAD/CAM software and the ability to read engineering drawings. In an ideal world, you will be a time-served Apprentice, although this isn’t essential. Regardless of previous expertise, you will have an excellent eye for detail and be comfortable working in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
In return, my client is offering an excellent salary in the region of £36,000 - £38,000, dependent on experience. An excellent benefits package is also on offer which includes 34 days holiday (Bank holidays) per year, a company pension, profit share scheme, travel allowance and life insurance.
The role will be working on double days with the following working hours: AM shift: 6am 2pm Monday to Thursday and 6am 1pm on a Friday. PM shift: 2pm 10pm Monday to Thursday and 1pm 8pm on a Friday.
