We are recruiting an experienced and compassionate Senior Residential Support Worker to join our Ofsted-registered Childrens Home in Derby. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Senior Support Worker who wants to make a real difference and progress within a supportive, well-structured team.

You will support children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, complex needs, or trauma backgrounds, while leading shifts and mentoring staff to deliver high-quality, compliant care.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and stable home environment
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing, independence, education, and daily routines
  • Leading shifts, supporting staff, and maintaining high standards of care
  • Following and updating care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour strategies
  • Accurately recording daily logs, incidents, and safeguarding concerns
  • Ensuring full compliance with safeguarding procedures and Ofsted standards
  • Supporting inspections, audits, and reviews

What Were Looking For

  • Minimum 1 years experience working in a childrens residential home (required)
  • Experience supporting children with emotional, behavioural, or complex needs
  • Experience leading shifts or supervising staff (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and Ofsted regulations
  • Confident, calm, and emotionally resilient approach
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People (Residential Pathway) or equivalent

  • Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
  • Commitment to ongoing training and professional development
