Essex (A134 / A120 area). £12 - £18 per hour + shift premium + overtime. Having been established for over 50 years, my metal processing client is a secure organisation with an outstanding reputation in their marketplace. They have a bursting orderbook which is the success of spending decades developing an outstanding reputation across the aerospace, marine and premium automotive industries, and are well-known for their exceptionally high product standards.

Starting from very humble beginnings, this privately owned organisation now employs over 115 people, many of whom have been attracted to the organisation by its modern facilities, great team culture and the investment and training opportunities provided to those looking to progress. Due to a very busy orderbook and continued expansion, opportunities have arisen for a number of CNC Setter/Operators to join them.

The key responsibilities of your new role as a CNC Setter/Operator are as follows:

  • Setting and operating CNC machines to perform various machining operations.
  • Interpreting technical drawings and blueprints to determine machine set-up and production methods.
  • Monitoring machine operations to ensure parts are produced according to specifications.
  • Inspecting finished products for quality and accuracy.
  • Working closely with the inspection team to assure dimensional accuracy of product.

My client is keen to speak to experienced CNC Operators/Setters who have the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, along with knowledge of logic controllers and CNC programming. In an ideal world, you will also have experience of working with cast products; although this isn't essential. Regardless of previous expertise, you will be a team player, by nature, have an excellent eye for detail and be comfortable working in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

In return, my client is offering hourly rates of £12-18 per hour (+ shift premium + overtime), dependent on experience. These are full-time, permanent roles, with long-term career prospects. The company operate an alternating shift pattern of 1 week early (07:00-15:00) 1 week late (15:00-23:00), Monday - Friday, or a permanent late shift pattern. You will receive an additional £1.50 per hour shift premium when working the late shift.
